Hyde Park, Kitchen
During the course of construction , Sasha entered the project in the early stages whilst the foundation was being prepared for the new-build planning by architect Dana Gordon of DG architecture. The client had approached Sasha for full interior services to their 1000sqm property (under roof), and thus the ball began rolling with iterations to the internal infrastructure which would allow new solutions to 'fixed' restraints. One factor, the client chose to build on the original foundation of the old property. Sasha began by structurally shifting the positioning of the steel pillars which were originally centered to the kitchen area supporting the double volume slab above. We found a creative way to maintain the base support by shifting the steel column 2m to the right and concealing the pillar upstairs into the bedroom brickwork. Hence reducing the appearance of steel /need to cost steel with cladding. The next problem was redesigning a layout for the kitchen cabinetry whereby , with in mind creating minimal approach to cupboard design or the appearance of over bearing use of storage / finishes. The use of finishes were imported Niemann Board , Beautiful Nero Fioretto marble (sealed for kitchen use). The extractor Hood , a custom tempered glass with grey mirror vinyling (carefully ducted through the ceiling and punched out to the yard for recirculation). Appliances by Miele. This project is recently completed and awaiting professional pictures. Custom Kitchen , designed and manufactured by Laurdine.
